Trying to think of what we could do with the ancillary tasks, wanting to channel Storm Thorgerson's work for the band, we decided that pictures that depict loneliness and isolation would be best; themes that constantly run throughout the song and music video, we felt that they portrayed the messages and values that we hoped to create within the piece. Therefore, we decided on a shot of the front of the house, lonely in the middle of a field, for the back cover; it's boarded up windows and the broken roof suggest decay and a lack of attention. For the front cover, we felt that an image of our protagonist, showing how alone he is, would also support our messages and values. A long shot shows him huddled alone in a corner, connoting his isolation and fear. We also felt that underlining the concept of death, a dominant theme in our music video, should be made explicit somewhere in the Digipak and decided on a faded skull in the foreground of the front cover, with the pink signature text Pink Floyd running across it.
Lastly, thinking of an insert/poster, we again wanted to convey the loneliness and despair of the house that he lives in, which is representative of the recurring themes in the music video. We used the famous prism from the album cover for The Dark Side of the Moon and layered it over the image of the house, creating focus on the house and making a direct reference to this being a Pink Floyd album.
