Filming Location

The Great Gig in the Sky needs a music video which features locations that reflect the many themes throughout the song . We got a reccommendation to see about a disused house in Dunmow and drove there one day to check it out and do a bit of principal photography. It was old, surrounded by forest, and perfect for film. However, it was much more dilapidated than we had hoped at first, with the rooms quite unsafe, in a much worse condition than we had hoped. As a result of this we took some photographs, which we used as the album poster insert and back cover for the Digipak, but realised we should assess our other options and look elsewhere. It's a shame because the house has strong ties to the themes of the song; the slow realisation of decay and the depressed, weather beaten exterior of the house evokes a feeling of loneliness and carelessness, similar to our protagonist.
